MAKE OUR PLANET GREAT AGAIN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FUNDED BY AMBASSADE DE FRANCE AU PAKISTAN (2020-2021)

The “Make Our Planet Great Again scholarship” program funded Ambassade de France au Pakistan is for Pakistani students residing in Pakistan who want to enroll in French universities at Master’s level ONLY in the fields of climate change and environmental sciences.

Eligibility

  • The applicant should not be over 28 years old by January 1st, 2020.
  • The applicant should hold a 4 years bachelor’s degree with a CGPA of 3.5 out of 4 minimum in any Pakistani university recognized by Higher Education Commission, Pakistan.
  • There should not be more than a period of 2 years after the completion of the undergraduate degree.

    The selection is based on merit. The Embassy of France in Pakistan will pay special attention to gender equality and representation of all provinces.

Duration

The scholarship is awarded for a period of 24 months (equivalent to two years master’s program)

  5. An English proficiency test certificate

FINANCING OF MASTER’S EXCELLENCE GRANTS for International Students

Launched by France’s President Emmanuel Macron, the Make Our Planet Great Again initiative has met with worldwide enthusiasm, generating expressions of interest from a large number of highly qualified students and researchers.

Within the framework of the initiative, France’s ministries of Europe and foreign affairs (MEAE) and of higher education, research, and innovation (MESRI) in collaboration with Campus France have implemented a program to encourage international students to pursue masters-level training in earth systems, climate change and sustainability, the energy transition or societal challenges of environmental issues at French institutions of higher education. Master’s grants will be made annually under the program, beginning with the 2020 academic year.

Financial Coverage and Benefits

  • Successful students will receive an excellence grant in the amount of €1,190 per month over 12 months (for students enrolling in the second year)
  • And over 24 months (for those enrolling in the first year) – funding for repetition is not possible.
  • Round-trip airfare will also be provided

Who may apply? 

International students may apply for support for one or two years of study toward a master’s degree by including in their application a letter of admission to a master’s program (first or the second year) at a French institution of higher education.

Research themes

Four broad research themes are prioritized:

  • Earth systems
  • Climate change and sustainability
  • Energy transition
  • Societal challenges of environmental issues.

Eligibility

Students must:

  • Possess or be pursuing a French license or an equivalent undergraduate degree (Bachelor),
  • Be exclusive of the nationality of one of the eligible countries (listed below)
  • Reside in one of the eligible countries (listed below)
  • Not have resided in France after April 1st, 2019.
  • They must enroll in the master’s program before October 2020.

Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New-Zealand, Singapore, and South Korea.

Interested students should submit their study plans here. Applications must be accompanied by a:

  • CV
  • Most recent Diploma
  • Statement of purpose
  • A signed letter of admission into a French master’s program
  • Transcripts (of the past three years of study)
  • Letters of recommendation (optional)
  • Passeport or proof of ID.

FINANCING 12 MONTH POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH

Launched by France’s President Emmanuel Macron, the Make Our Planet Great Again initiative has met with worldwide enthusiasm, generating expressions of interest from a large number of highly qualified students and researchers.

France’s ministries of Europe and foreign affairs (MEAE) and of higher education, research, and innovation (MESRI) in collaboration with Campus France have implemented a program of support for foreign postdoctoral researchers wishing to conduct further research in France on a topic related to earth systems, climate change and sustainability, the energy transition, or societal challenges of environmental issues.

Description of the Post-Doctoral project:

  1. Title of the Project
  2. Abstract of the Post-Doctoral Project (2000 char. max.)
  3. Context and motivation (2000 char. max.)
  4. Scientific Objectives (2000 char. max.)
  5. Methodology and Planning (4500 char. max.)
  6. Keywords (6)
  7. Position of the project in relation to the MOPGA scientific domains and integration in the French research host institution (1500 char. max.)

The application must be in English.

Who may apply?

Foreign researchers holding a doctoral degree (for less than 5 years) are encouraged to respond to this call for proposals. Candidates must include with their application a letter from a French host institution agreeing to host their research if the candidate’s proposal is accepted by the program. This letter has to detail the resources provided to carry out the research project. A possibility of co-financing can also be considered.

Institutions hosting the laureates will be financed to 50 000€ for a period of 12 months, per selected post-doctoral researchers.

  • The letter of commitment of the French host institution for hosting your post-doctorate specifying the resources provided to carry out the research project (the host institution receives financing of 50 000€ for 12 months)
  • Letters of recommendation.
  • Passport or proof of ID
